Sadie Burrows is an interdisciplinary storyteller working primarily in soft pastel on paper. Her body of work combines nonlinear, cultural and personal narratives with symbolic
image–making, particularly through reference to folklore and myth. In addition to her fine arts practice, Burrows is a handpoke tattoo artist invested in the diverse applications and possibilities of drawing.  Soft pastels present a respite from the preciousness and permanence of tattooing, allowing one tested practice to illuminate another more experimental. Tattooing connects her with her community and fosters transdisciplinary collaboration. She regards tattoos as a mutual aid resource that should be accessible to any person. Burrows has independently published artist prints, zines and other ephemera relating to her drawing and tattooing practices and in support of liberatory movements.
